Your family's information, handled with care
This app holds some of the most personal details a family can write down. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, how it is used and stored, who can see it, and what happens when you delete it.
Kaufman Inclusion Group, LLC operates In the Moment: A Family Guide.
What we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we store your email address and how you sign in (a password or a Google sign-in). We never ask for your name, address, or phone number.
Child information. A parent or guardian writes the child's profile: the child's first name, age, what they love, what can upset them, how they communicate, what helps them calm down, dos and don'ts, and any other notes. This is written by the parent, and it is shared only with the people the parent chooses.
Caregiver notes. A caregiver who receives a shared profile can write private notes for themselves under each situation. Only the caregiver who wrote a note can read it.
Sharing records. When a parent shares a profile, we keep a record of the invitation or view-only link so access can be turned off later.
Payment records. Payments are processed by Stripe, a major payment company. Your card number never touches our app. We keep a record of your purchase so your access works and receipts can be found.
How your information is used
We use your information for only three things:
- To run the app: sign you in, show the guides, and build the child's profile.
- To share: show the profile only to the family members and caregivers the parent invited, and only while the parent leaves that access on.
- To manage your plan: process payments through Stripe, send receipts, and send service emails such as sign-up confirmation and password resets.
We do not sell your information. We do not use child information for advertising. We do not send marketing emails.
Who can see a child's profile
The parent who created a profile controls it completely. Only the people the parent shares it with can see it, and the parent can turn off any person's access at any time from the Links and access page.
Family members who accept an invitation get their own free account. They can see the child's profile and parent tips while their access remains active. A caregiver's private notes stay visible only to the caregiver who wrote them.
Caregivers with a private, view-only care link can see the profile and parent tips without an account. Anyone who receives that link may be able to open it, so parents should send it only to people they trust. A recipient could forward or show the link to someone else. Turning off the link stops future access through it, but it cannot erase copies or printouts someone made while the link was active.
The app's author does not read your family's profiles except when you email a question and ask for help with your own account.
How your information is protected
Information travels over an encrypted connection and is stored in a managed cloud database with encryption and strict access controls. Passwords are handled by the sign-in service and are never visible to us.
Shared profiles are delivered through the app's own servers. Family access requires an account invitation, while view-only care links use long, hard-to-guess private addresses. No online service or sharing method can promise perfect security, so parents should share only what a caregiver needs and turn off access when it is no longer needed.
Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe.
Site statistics
We count anonymous visits and page views to understand how the app is used. These counts contain no names, emails, or child information.
Deleting child information
In your account settings, "Delete all child information" permanently removes every child profile, all parent tips, and all parent notes right away. Your sign-in and your purchase stay active, and the guides remain available to you.
Deleting child information also ends every share connected to it. Family members and caregivers lose access to the profile immediately, and view-only links stop working.
Deletion removes the information from active app records. It cannot delete information a recipient previously copied, printed, saved outside the app, or shared independently.
Deleting your account
To delete your whole account, email Jen@GrandparentingOnTheSpectrum.com from the address on the account. We remove your account, your sign-in, your child information, and your sharing records. Your access to the paid plan ends with the account.
We keep only what law and accounting rules require, such as a basic record of the payment itself. That record contains no child information.
Caregivers and family members
If someone shared a profile with you, you can remove your own notes at any time. If you no longer want access, ask the parent to turn it off, or email us and we will remove you.
Children's privacy
Accounts are for adults. A parent or guardian creates the profile and invites everyone else. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.
